Im a little over ten weeks. and have high blood pressure. There monitoring it and gave me a 24 hour urine tests to see if there was protein spilling in my urine, there wasnt. I got back to the doctors for my twelve week appt, I Kinda hope they put me on medicine now rather than it getting really bad and it potentially hurting me or the baby. Its hard to relax about this issue because I want to be excited but im still really scared at the same time ;(. Any one have high blood pressure and everything turned out ok?
Thanks ladies!

For anyone in the medical field, or who may know what I am talking about I had three TIA’s in one day way back in 2000, but I was taken to the hospital right away..
Don’t some medications raise your blood pressure?

…and saying alot of whatever’s.
Has anyone with high blood pressure been able to get off meds through lifestyle changes alone?

I was recently diagnosed with high blood pressure. I am 47 and never had issues before. The past year has been EXTREMELY stressful for me (too much to get into). I know I have to lose about 20 pounds and change diet. I am now taking Inderal. I was wondering if I lost the weight, ate well, didn’t smoke, etc. I could eventually get off medication. Has anyone ever sucessfully done this through lifestyle changes? Unfortunately both my parents have this also.

I have had high blood pressure for years, even with medication it would not go down. Over a year ago I joined Curves for Woman and since my blood pressure has been going down. Two days ago I went to the doctor for the results on the cholesterol test. My blood pressure is now 120 over 68. My doctor tells me I have to stay on medication for the rest of my life. Some time ago I was told by other doctors I could get off meds when it goes down I lose more weight. Who is right. I don’t like being on prescriptions for life. I think prescription drugs are dangerous, and am afraid of what the end result will be.
