Is there a link with high blood pressure and eye sight?
I have an extremely high blood pressure and recently over the past 3 months noticed that one of my eyes has suddenly gotten blurry. I don’t go to the doctor because all they say is “blah blah blood pressure blah blah” Is there a link. The doctors only seem to want to make a buck off of my high blood pressure? How can I get an unbiased opinion?
cool answers! keep em comming esp if you think anyone is wrong! My issue is with one eye only, and it seems abrubpt. So it is a noticible change.
This group dodged the obvious “duh, see a doctor” answer and provided some extra info! Thanks!
Do I need to stay on medication if my blood pressure is normal?
I have had high blood pressure for years, even with medication it would not go down. Over a year ago I joined Curves for Woman and since my blood pressure has been going down. Two days ago I went to the doctor for the results on the cholesterol test. My blood pressure is now 120 over 68. My doctor tells me I have to stay on medication for the rest of my life. Some time ago I was told by other doctors I could get off meds when it goes down I lose more weight. Who is right. I don’t like being on prescriptions for life. I think prescription drugs are dangerous, and am afraid of what the end result will be.
What is the significance of measuring blood pressure while lying versus standing?
I am aware that blood pressure is usually lower when standing and I’m not looking for answers on normal blood pressure levels but I’m curious as to why doctors would take your BP while lying down and then compare it to sitting and standing BP levels. What would the results signify?
Serious answers only please. You may think you’re being smart and funny but you’re not.
What is an easy to use blood pressure monitor that has USB and easily email or print, parents are luddites?
My parents are extreme technical luddites but need to do regular monitoring of their blood pressure. Unfortunately I live extremely far away and since they have a computer hooked up to the Internet, I would like to find one that can easily
a) Print reports for the doctors
b) Email reports for us
Thanks!
What are some natural ways to control blood pressure?
Hi,
I am trying to find out natural ways to bring the blood pressure down. I have a friend who has just found out that their blood pressure is QUITE high, not just a few points.
The problem is that they have a history of not doing very well with drugs. Most of the drugs that the doctors have prescribed for various things throughout the years have not worked, or done just the opposite of what was supposed to happen. My friend thinks that their body chemistry is just different than the average and that drugs just don’t work well for them.
Therefore, they are really scared to try taking any blood pressure drugs. I am trying to gather up some information to help them figure out what to do instead of drugs.
I know things like eating less salt, losing weight and stuff like that, but could you please point out some of the things that may not be so obvious? Also any herbs or something that is good for that?
Thank you for your help and I look forward to your responses!
