The occurrence of red eye symptoms (e.g. as in subconjunctival hemorrhage) often indicates high blood pressure. Most common causes for poor blood circulation are free radical damage to the circulatory system, lack of healthy nutrition (deficiency of vitamins, minerals, aminos acids and essential fatty acids) and acid toxins within the body. As a result the veins, arteries and capillaries will not be able to cope and may cause poor blood circulation. Medicines and supplements that may increase the risk of a subconjunctival hemorrhage are : Blood-thinning medications, such as warfarin and aspirin, Ginseng, Ginkgo, Garlic,Ginger,St. John’s wort, Cayenne.

You may improve your blood circulation in many ways :

do not smoke, the nicotine causes your blood vessels to constrict and your heart to beat faster, and this raises your blood pressure. Most people breathe improperly by using only the upper portion of lungs; Hydrotherapy (hot and cold shower) may help to improve blood circulation. Avoid stressful situations. Regular exercise will have positive results on your blood flow. Choose a diet that includes lots of fruits and vegetables and is low in fat. Reduce proteins and saturated fats (found in red meat, cheese and cream). Effective circulation boosting foods are pumpkin seeds , oranges, nuts, watermelon, garlic.

Improving sleep may also help to improve blood circulation, here are some tips to improve your sleep : Avoid large meals before bedtime, or going to bed feeling hungry. Avoid sources of caffeine such as cigarettes, alcohol, coffee, chocolate, fizzy drinks non-herbal teas (Caffeine takes 8 hours to metabolize). Sleep is often disturbed in smokers and those who withdraw from heavy nicotine use. Although alcohol helps to fall asleep but the sleep will be very poor quality & fragmented. Regular exercise improves your sleep (although do not exercise close to bed time). Go to bed as early as possible and create a pattern of going to bed and waking up at the same time.

Tony asked:

I eat a lot of ramen noodles because they are inexpensive. After school I have just one serving a day. I have heard that you can get high blood pressure from too much salt so i am worried I might get this disease quickly if I don’t stop soon.
Should I be worried?

Blood pressure?

Julia B asked:

I just went to the doctor today and she told me that I have slightly high blood pressure (I don’t know the exact numbers) and I realized I don’t really know what blood pressure is! I know it is cause by obesity, eating bad foods, lack of exercise, etc… Why does exercising lower your bp? I heard it has something to do with your blood thinning? What are the two numbers? Any info would be helpful!

Low blood pressure?

MamaSmurf asked:

I have type 2 diabetes. I monitor my glucose extremely well and watch my diet. My blood pressure is always on the low side, however, not considered to be extreme or dangerous. However, for a few days now, I feel almost like I have low blood sugar, but it’s not. (between 95 and 102 ) I don’t have a blood pressure monitor at home. Could this be sign of pressure being too low ?? I feel sort or shakey on the inside and tired. I’m not taking any other medication except for my insulin, and that’s nothing new. I walk every day, and that doesn’t cause these symptoms any other time. Any ideas of what it could be??

Secondary hypertension is a hypertensive disorder, the cause of other basic diseases. This is by 5 to 15% of all high-pressure patients. The treatment of the underlying disease plays in the therapy in addition to lowering blood pressure an important role. The most common causes of secondary hypertension are diseases of the kidneys, the endocrine system and blood vessels. The frequency data is to be specified with significant differences.

Kidney disease is the most common cause of secondary hypertension: We distinguish between diseases of the renal arteries and the renal tissue. Diseases of the kidney tissue (renoparenchymatic form) are due to chronic inflammation (glomerulonephritis, interstitial nephritis), caused by diabetic damage (nephropathy) or cystic kidneys. This has a diminished ability pathogenesis of salt excretion and thus an increase in blood pressure result.

The narrowing of the renal artery, which is known as renovascular form as well as Fibromuscular dysplasia, or inflammation caused by atherosclerosis, connective tissue disease. Thus the kidney is insufficient blood supply, which activates the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS). This results in vasoconstriction, activation of the sympathetic nervous system and reduced salt excretion in the kidney, which in turn lead to an increased blood volume. All these mechanisms contribute) to an increase in blood pressure (Goldblatt mechanism. Treatment of renovascular hypertension is the narrowing of the arteries dilate) using a catheter (angioplasty. If there is a stenosis, however, over time can, through the resulting is Secondary hypertension, even after such treatment persist renal fixation.

Disturbances in hormone levels may be caused by a number of different diseases. With a Conn’s syndrome, an increased aldosterone levels lead to activation of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system. The newer version (with normal potassium levels) of Conn’s syndrome may represent more recent studies suggest that a large proportion of secondary hypertension. It is causing the case of a pheochromocytoma excessive adrenaline – and norepinephrine production in activation of the sympathetic nervous system, in a Cushing’s syndrome because the increased corticosteroid hormones increased absorption in the kidney. Other, less common causes are an adrenogenital syndrome, an acromegaly (increased growth hormone production) and hyperparathyroidism) (overactive parathyroid glands.

In a coarctation of the aorta (congenital malformations of the aorta), a narrowing of the aorta is the aortic arch, ie the curvature of the aorta above the heart. With this narrowing of the blood pressure rises. By the decreased blood flow to the kidneys, which lie below this bottleneck, it comes through the same mechanisms as in renal artery stenosis in arterial hypertension.

Sleep apnea occurs through the sympathicotonic awake reactions occurring in a particular increase in blood pressure that occur at night. By the treatment of sleep apnea syndrome (CPAP) improves the hypertension usually clear.
