My aunt suffers from high blood pressure. Today, however, her blood pressure dropped to 75/66. Should we be concerned?

What can be done to increase her blood pressure to a much healthier level?

If it continues to be that low the best thing to do is take her back to the doctor. There are a lot of things that cause low blood pressure. The meds shes taking if she is taking any may not be working right, she could have internal bleeding or just other things. Just make an appointment. The doctor will know 100%

Sounds like she needs her medication adjusted. Is there any chance she took her pills twice? Medication is very effective in regulating BP most of the time, so I’d call her doctor and see if they feel the need to change something.

Your aunt should first of all skip her next medication schedule and stay in bed most of the day. If condition does not improve soon, you should keep her in bed and raise the foot of the bed to increase blood circulation to the brain. You will also monitor the blood pressure quarter hourly. If after all this the blood pressure fails to come to normal ( around 120/80), take her to hospital immediately.
