Why buy from Ebay. I have the Omron HEM-712C digital blood pressure monitor, w/cuff for upper arm around $60 from Rite-Aid. Reads the pulse as well. Easy to use. Takes four batteries. The wrist type is not reliable.

Hi Edgar,
Omron tends to make good units. Any unit can be damaged, though. You should always check a BP monitor against the human ear (in a Doc's office). They can go out of whack too. So, this should be done annually. Stay away from the wrist type units. They're easier to put on, but less accurate. W/a little practice, your parents will be able to use theirs easily. A decent monitor will run you about $60. Good Luck.

I own a Walgreens blood pressure reader for the wrist. It works pretty well and I think it is a good buy. Don't know exactly what brand you plan to purchase but I think that you will be OK with a store brand.

My dad is in the same boat. Use OMRON. It is awesome because it holds the memory of your previous blood pressure readings so you can monitor it. Its very simple and fast. Hope that helps!
