What foods or ingredients (besides salt) aggetate high blood pressure?

blood pressure miracle

wonderbread asked:

I’m 34 weeks pregnant and I’ve been put on bedrest for high blood pressure. I know salt intake is one of the ingredients to watch for, but are there other ingredients or foods that will aggetate my blood pressure and make it go higher?

pork of any sort, all sorts of chips, crackers, soda, diet or regular, because it is high in sodium, cured meats or sharp cheese, canned soup or vegetables, lots of sodium in those also.

Caffeine as well. It is hard to be so careful but really watch the salt. Try eating foods high in potassium, calcium and magnesium as they help lower blood pressure. You only have about 4 more weeks. Do the bed rest. I didn’t the first time I got preeclampsia and had my baby at 36 weeks. I did the second time and we made it to 38 weeks. Good luck

My hubby was just recently diagnosed with HBP. Salt (of course) caffiene, nicotine, alcohol (all which you’re not using anyway :) ) processed meat (hot dogs, bacon, lunchmeat), diet soft drinks, cheese, sour cream, chocolate, softened water even. Watch your intake of excess sugar and refined carbohydrates. Good luck.

    Caffiene.
Depending on what type of high blood pressure it is, that may not help. I had never had it until late my third trimester, and my food intake had nothing to do with it. It was just how my body reacted to being pregnant. Just stay in bed. I know it is hard, but trust me, it is much better than pre-eclempsia. They induced me at 35-36 weeks and had me on magnesium sulfate(so you won’t have seizures due to the pressure). I’m not trying to scare you, just saying take this seriously. I probably should have stayed in bed more.
