What does it mean when someone says high or low hypertension?

blood pressure miracle

abc asked:

I know hypertension is high blood pressure. So does high hypertension refer to a dangerous level of high blood pressure and low hypertension refer to normal blood pressure? I need clarification thanks
Ok i got it. One other thing though, how much change is significant in blood pressure? For example, if one reading is 122/80 and it changes to 123/81, is that a significant change? Also which is more important, the systolic or diastolic

Here’s what i think it is but i am no real doctor. Having hypertension is not good at all, but if you have a low hypertension means your pressure is low so you have the possibility of fainting and other things. High hypertension means your pressure is high and you are at the risk of heart attack and many things.

Hypertension refers to high blood pressure only (from greek origin hyper meaning over/above). If you have hypertension, your blood pressure is high. Systolic blood pressure for most healthy adults falls between 90 and 120 millimeters of mercury (mm Hg). Normal diastolic blood pressure falls between 60 and 80 mm Hg. Current guidelines define normal blood pressure as lower than 120/80. Blood pressures over 130/80 are considered high. Hypotension is the medical term for low blood pressure (less than 90/60) with no symptoms. Low blood pressure is a sign of good cardiovascular (heart and blood vessel) health. But low blood pressure can be a sign of an underlying problem — especially in the elderly — where it may cause inadequate blood flow to the heart, brain, and other vital organs.

Blood pressure is the amount of force (pressure) that blood exerts on the walls of the blood vessels as it passes through them. There are two pressures measured for blood pressure:

Pressure while the heart is beating is known as systolic blood pressure and pressure while it is relaxed is known as diastolic blood pressure. A significant change would be if for instance your pressure reading was 120/80 and increased to 130/90 that would be significant and considered prehypertension.
