Are these variations typical, or is it possible that I’m not taking the measurements correctly, or the machine is not working properly?
Yes, I’m aware my blood pressure is high.
That’s all within reason. Everybody fluctuates from moment to moment a little bit, and all NIBP machines have a little bit of inacuracy.
I’d tend not to believe that the first one got your diastolic right or that the second one got your systolic right.
I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say that your pressure is 142/90.
Your average BP is 142/88 mmHg. You have got Hypertension Stage 1.
Follow-up recommended- Confirm in two months; one BP medication; change lifestyle.
