Question by Raf: Should I go to the hospital for this blood pressure reading?
I checked my blood pressure tonight and it was 162/103…I do smoke and drink heavily and quit drinking 3 days ago. I am 28 years old and suffer from anxiety, should I go to hospital?

If you don’t go to the ER tonight, I would definitely get in to see a doctor asap. I would also try to quit, or at least limit the amount of cigarettes you are smoking. Dont drink. Do take your anxiety meds. Continue to monitor your BP until you see the doctor. He will want to know how it has been throughout the day and night. Good luck to you.,
YES! you should go right away if you can. Hypertension is 140/90 (if it continually stays that high) and you are obviously exceeding that. I would definitely go because some serious issues such as heart failure, vascular disease, renal failure, and stroke can occur as a result of hypertension.
