You need to get a different doctor!! 154/100 is not good at all!! You can have a stroke or heart attack by having a blood pressure that high!! Even 138/90 is hypertensive, you need to be put on sometime of antihypertensive immediately!! Do not wait!

monitor your blood pressure two times a day for seven days.wright it down and see how it checks out after seven days.your blood pressure is not the same every time you take it. if it is still high go to another Dr.

If it was that 3 times, I’d go to another doctor. The most accurate way is to do it on and off all day, and even when standing up.

Were you especially upset when you were there that day?

It cant hurt to see what your pressure is somewhere else. It always depends on the accuracy of the machines.

    Watch your salt and diet.

Sounds like you have white coat syndrome. Visiting the doctor’s office elevates your pressure.

  5. Gordon C says:

Sounds like you have what’s called a “labile” blood pressure – that means prone to going up and down regularly.

Readings taken at home when sitting quietly are likely to be the most reliable. If there is still significant doubt then you would benefit from a 24 hour blood pressure monitor session.

Main thing is don’t panic – you certainly need to get this sorted out but there is nothing to get too worried about

    Hope that helps
