Is it dangerous to exercise intensely if you have high blood pressure?

blood pressure miracle

Jessica B asked:

I know I should probably ask my doctor this, but I don’t have any known heart defects or anything. I’m only 22 but have high blood pressure because of being over weight and probably my PCOS has contributed too, is it dangerous for me to do more exercise than walking before getting my heart used to regular activiy?

Anyone that hasn’t exercised must start out at a small pace. First you need to warm up before doing anything. Jumping into an exercise just puts a strain on the heart all of a sudden. You want to start out slow, then slowly work your pace up for awhile then walk at one pace for 10-15 minutes and then cool down before stopping. Do this for several days and then slowly work yourself up to a faster pace into a slow jog if you want. You are also right about going to your doctor before starting any exercise routine, even walking. After his okay just remember to warm up and cool down when exercising. This way your muscles won’t cramp and remember your heart is the largest muscle we have. Good luck with your exercising and God Bless

When you have a medical condition, exercise could be very dangerous. You need to consult with a doctor before doing certain exercises and always be careful. You could have a dizzy spell and fall onto something for example. Exercise and eat right when it is safe to do so. Being overweight is something delicate that needs special attention when you have high blood pressure.

Hey, exercise is the one good way known to reduce your blood pressure!

And walking is a tremendous way to deal with the high blood pressure. So, don’t worry, continue on with it.

If you feel strained at first, I suggest you start slow and increase your intensity at a steady pace.

    start slow,

start some normal exercises like walking and after some time, increase speed as well as length of the walk, after you get to about 12 kms in a an hour, and total 12kms, without losing your breath, you are ready for exercise, although i would recommend that you keep monitoring your blood pressure for that.

make sure reduce a little salt intake, it sometimes contributes in increasing bp.
