What you could perhaps try is to take about 5 readings on your home BP monitor. Probably the first one will be the worst and perhaps the third or fourth one will be the best. The more relaxed you are the lower the reading. Readings vary depending on how rested and relaxed you are.

Based on all your various readings and disregarding the higher ones and regarding the lowest readings as the more accurate ones it would seem that your systolic BP is OK as the best readings are below 140 and your diastolic BP is probably OK as well as the best readings are below 90. Over 140/90 is high BP and needs treatment.

Variations in BP are quite normal and the best readings are the ones that you should regard as the more accurate ones. The white coat syndrome means that in general your first reading is by far the worst. Probably because you are not rested and not very relaxed.

Everything is normal as far as I am concerned. None of your readings listed are really anything to worry about as they are really not too bad being that you had been walking around and stuff.

Standing, sitting, laying down? Don't think that would make much of a difference.

According to my Doctor, you should be inactive for at least 5 mins before testing, not 2.

As mentioned above, keep a record of your reading and take them to your Doctor along with your meter.

Cheers and Happy Holidays!

take the tests at the same time each day.........at least 4 times a day..............

after three weeks you will get a better picture of your pressure...........

Stay away from the store monitor!!! Keep a record of your pressure readings and then take them to the doctor with you. He will determine if you are doing ok. 130/85 is good. Doctors want you to be in the 120/80 range. So if the doctor didn't put you on any meds for blood pressure, you are fine.

High blood pressure can simply be caused by inflammation in the body, which can be remedied by avoid foods that are likely to cause an allergic inflammation reaction like: wheat gluten, sugar, dairy, eggs and nuts. As well, there are some natural antinflammatories you can take now to help keep it under control like Omega 3 and raw garlic.

Bring the machine with you to your doctor's office.
Most physician's offices calibrate (tune) their own sphygnomanometers regularly to keep them accurate.

They can calibrate your machine against their own and confirm it is accurate.
