Average systolic blood pressure readings are:
Neonates-40 mm Hg.
Infants aged 2 weeks- 70 mm Hg.
Children up to 12 years- 105 mm Hg.
Above 17 years- 120 mm Hg.
Hypertension in young people, up through age 17 years, is defined as systolic or diastolic BP that is equal to or greater than the 95 th percentile of the normal BP range for age, gender, and height.

Age (years)- Boys-girls
12 to 14 -120/80 -120/80.
14 to 15 -130/82–125/82.
16 to 18 -135/85 -130/85.
