i am taking 5 mg of lisinopril a day for borderline High Blood Pressure, is it ok to use Viagra?

blood pressure miracle

Chris asked:

I have been taking 5 mg of lisinopril for about the last 3 years for borderline high blood pressure, i am pretty fit and active 33 yr old, i use the gym 4 times a week, football, cricket, rugby at weekends! But I am worried that taking Viagra might damage my heart permanently. Is it fine to take Viagra while using lisinopril or suffering with High Blood Pressure?

As long as your blood pressure is normal while taking the lisinopril. If you have low pressure pressure due to the lisinopril adding Viagra would not be good. So, clinically look for any headaches, weakness, dizziness(especially when sitting or standing up), heart racing. Those can be signs of low blood pressure. But, if you have no problems and your blood pressure readings are fine then you should have no trouble. Just DON’T take Viagra if you are on nitrates for chest pain. Examples of nitrates are: Imdur, Monoket, nitroglycerin(any form: patches, tablets, paste, capsules), Isordil.
That would be a bad choice.

Its possible the lisinopril is contributing to your erectile dysfunction. I suggest consulting your doctor and if your do only have borderline hypertension try and medication holiday to see if you erectile dysfunction improves. Then you could consider different medication if needed.
