5 days behind is really nothing to worry about….

I developed hypertension after 20 wks. I never measured behind but when I had my son at 37 wks he only weighed 5lbs 7oz. Because of my blood pressure he couldn’t grow as well as he should. I had to *** in the jug more times than I remember to keep track of my protein to make sure I didn’t develop pre-eclampsia. I was on bed rest and had to go in for a BPP twice a wk to keep an eye on him. It wasn’t fun but I now have an 8 month old weighing in at over 20lbs. He’s happy and healthy so just take it easy and listen to your doctor. I hope it goes better for you than it did for me.

I have high blood pressure as well and my babies behinde as well my ob said its because when you have high blood pressure it like slows the growth of the baby it just means you’ll probably have a smaller baby. Nothing to worry about unless your b/p gets off the wall! Good Luck =) and congratz

Your doctor is probably just wanting to take precautions, i went to my midwife when i was 16weeks & 3days, my uterus measured 15cm when it should be 16cm for me being 16weeks+. She said it was nothing to worry about and she listened to the heartbeat and checked my BP and everything was fine, i wouldn’t worry about it.

I wouldn’t be too worried about the 5 days behind. How did he measure that anyway? By ultrasound or fundal height? Your blood pressure being high can be worrisome just because it could be a sign of preeclampsia. If I were you I’d ask if there has been any protein in your urine. They should check that at every appointment. It’s anywhere from nothing, trace, +1,+2, etc. There normally is not any protein spilling into your urine but if you do have that and high blood pressure along with other symptoms of preeclampsia (headache, extreme swelling of ankles and hands) then I would bring it up to your doctor. Definitely not trying to make you worry but I’ve had preeclampsia twice and it is no fun to say the least. Take it easy and try to monitor your blood pressure at home if you can or at any drugstore. Also be very proactive in your care. You know your body best and when something doesn’t feel right make them check into it. Your doctor sounds like he/she is doing the right thing by monitoring the baby and you. Just make sure you do the right thing and tell them any symptoms you have so they can get a clear picture of what might be going on. Best Wishes to you and your baby!

5 days isn’t really much to be too terribly worried about. The doctor is just making sure that he covers all of his bases and keeps an eye out just in case there might be a bit of a blood pressure issue. But, I measured a little behind too and my daughter is perfectly fine. 7lbs 3 oz when she was born. Some babies grow at a different pace, thats all. These things are never perfectly accurate, I was told 3 different due dates because of this.
EDIT: My daughter was 5 days behind on the ultrasound the whole time, the doctors said that it is completely normal.

5 days really is not that much. That could also be us error. I wouldn’t freak out it only raises your blood pressure. I would know I have BP issues too this pregnancy and my girl is fine.
