How to stop taking high blood pressure medication? Without killing yourself?

blood pressure miracle

Joseph asked:

My grandmother takes high blood pressure medication, and is ready to stop taking it. Her blood pressure has dropped, and we found multiple ways to keep it down naturally, from a homeopathic doctor, and ourselves. What I want to know, is how can she stop taking the medication. I know it has to be done slowly and gradually, to avoid painfull, even fatal, symptoms.

Please help,
Thanks

She needs to contact her doctor and ask him that question. This should be done only under his supervision.

Yes, it needs to be done gradually, and she also needs to keep having her blood pressure monitored while she is doing it. She has to work with the doctor to do this. Or else do it really slowly at home and someone has to check her b.p. daily.

It depends on the drug(s) being taken. Some can be stopped quickly and some need to be tapered. The only way to safely do this in to know which medications they are and do it under the supervision of the doctor. The doctor will likely want to only stop one drug at a time and taper the dose of each medication slowly over time.

Whatever is done, be sure to monitor blood pressure consistently during this time and after medications are stopped to be sure they do not need to be restartedd.

    Good Luck
