high blood pressure question(36 weeks) really long but please read?

blood pressure miracle

aidens mommy 6/29/09 asked:

for the past couple of weeks i’ve had high blood pressure so they put me on bed rest because of gestational hypertension. last friday i was having severe upper abdominal pain and callled and they told me to come in to get checked, they said i was dehydarated and to stay on bed rest. i had my last appointment wednesday and they sent me into l&d for more monitoring, welllll let’s just say i’ve been having headaches, blurred vision, high blood pressure, swelling but since i don’t have protein in my urine they sent me home saying” we expect this high blood pressure from you so just stay in bed” it never got lower than 150/85 and at one point was 181/101. then a couple hours after being home i collapsed on the couch because my back and stomach were so bad and i was having trouble breathing and callled the ambulance went in, saw the same nurse, she said it was the flu since i don’t have protein in my urine and sent me home. it just doesn’t seem right. i feel like they should induce me( i know it’s not the best) because of all these complications. i’m worried about me health and most of all the babies health. i don’t want to wait longer and end up having pre eclampsia develop since i’m already borderline. what do you think? should i not be so worried? should they be doing something?

Where was your abdominal pain? Was it above your belly button or below? To the left or your right of your belly button? I can’t believe they sent you home. How far along are you? Maybe you should consider going to a different hospital if that is at all possible.

Although many pregnant women with high blood pressure have healthy babies without serious problems, high blood pressure can be dangerous for both the mother and the fetus. Women with pre-existing, or chronic, high blood pressure are more likely to have certain complications during pregnancy than those with normal blood pressure. However, some women develop high blood pressure while they are pregnant (often called gestational hypertension).

The effects of high blood pressure range from mild to severe. High blood pressure can harm the mother’s kidneys and other organs, and it can cause low birth weight and early delivery. In the most serious cases, the mother develops preeclampsia–or “toxemia of pregnancy”–which can threaten the lives of both the mother and the fetus.

I wish for the life of me i could remember what you’ve got is called, but i can’t, it’s the same as pre-eclampsia, but it’s when you don’t have any protein in your urine.

They should be inducing you, if you’re far enough along, they shouldn’t be leaving you like that, your symptoms are dangerous.

Please speak to them, get a second opinion and demand blood tests to check your platelet & liver enzyme levels.
