Brooke asked:

But it only happens when i see doctor for monthly checkup. When they send me for further monitor,it getting normal. If i really have high blood pressure,it should be high all the time? The highest is always 130/90. Its always getting down to 110/72.

130/90 is nothing to worry about, that’s actually quite normal.
I have high blood pressure trust me, that’s normal.

You just need to do whatever your doc tells you to do.

130 over 90 isn’t anything to be concerned about in pregnancy. Normal adult blood pressure is 120/80. That isn’t a sign of anything serious, especially since it raises at the doctors office, which is normal. No need to be alarmed. Just try to relax when you go to the doctor :)

You are probably stressing about your BP being high- thats what causes it if it goes down afterwards!

I have Pre-eclampsia. My BP is always over 140/85, monitored. Usually higher than that though. If you don’t have swelling, headaches, protien in your urine or pain under your right breast, just keep your stress level down, stay away from things high in sodium and drink plenty of water.

you might just be stressed out when you are getting it done. when i do mine with the machine at work it’s always fine, but get me in a doc’s office and its easily 20 pts higher haha. ask the doctor if it’s too high, but it’s probably nothing to worry about too much. like somebody said about the highblood pressure disease pregnancy can cause, you might want to check with the doctor about that just in case though. :)

That is in the normal range. Optimal is 120/80. Normal is below 139/89. It would seem like you get some anxiety when at the doctors office since it is coming up high there but optimal elsewhere.

nothing to worry about, just try and relax when seeing the doc. If you get headaches, swelling or protein in your urine thats a worry.

Maybe the machine they use at your monthly checkup is faulty???

Actually 130/90 isn’t high blood pressure, but it is something to be concerned about, it’s borderline high blood pressure. I currently have Pregnancy Induced Hypertension, that’s blood pressure which is 140/90, and yes, my doctor ALWAYS sends me for monitoring and eventually it goes down to the 130’s/80’s, then they let me go home. Just be HAPPY your doctor is so concerned that they send you to be monitored because of that, they could be concerned it’ll become higher! They just want to make sure you nor baby have any complications, as well as, make sure baby is growing and functioning well inside, PIH can make a baby not grow like it normally should, cause problems and a lot, therefore BE thankful that you have a great doctor!

Normal BP level or equal to 160 / > or equal to100

It is always recommended to keep your blood pressure on normal levels especially when you’re pregnant to avoid complications.
