No precautions needed, but choose one in the middle of the price ranges.The cheapies are not that accurate. I also think that the arm ones are more reliable than the wrist ones. Follow the directions on cuff placement on the arm carefully and if you need a bigger cuff, buy one, or your results will be inaccurate. If you know a nurse who has a bp cuff haver them check you bp and check with the machine to check accuracy.
