Current blood pressure: 170/105. Do I need to go to the ER?

blood pressure miracle

Heather S asked:

It’s usually around 140/90, but none of my doctors have ever prescribed meds to manage it.
Over the last week, I’ve not felt so good, so I’ve begun to monitor my BP at home. Within the last few days, its been around 170/105.
I’m trying to get in to see one of my docs in the next few days, but is this BP high enough to need to make a trip to the ER?

YES! Even 140/90 is high – High blood pressure can eventually destroy your kidneys amongst other health problems! Please go to the ER ASAP!

That is a lot higher than 120/70…It cant hurt to get checked out, better safe than sorry. I would see a doctor, especially since you dont feel too good. Hope this helps!

i think soo….the highest you can get and still be in normal range is 140/90 if its ovr that it is serious

Considering the fact that normal is 120/80; I would say you should be at the ER instead of at the computer. Go now, unchecked high blood pressure can lead to stroke, heart attack, or death. God bless you, now go get your **** to the hospital!

Oh yeah! Seriously, that is not good at all. Some serious damage could be done if you don’t get to the dr very soon. Go to the ER now. Good luck, please let us know how it goes.

I was wondering the same about mine. I just checked mine and it is 144/90. I figure if I was 170/104 I wouldn’t even be asking but like this person I have had it in the 130′s and 140′s and the doctor says that’s not bad so what do you do?

yes, you need to be seen ASAP, high blood pressure can lead to stroke or heart attack. it also damages your kidneys-eyes and heart when left untreated.. I would like to know if you are having headaches,or seeing what we call flotters ( looks like black specs flotting in front of you) or if your having bursts of what looks like stars? also if you are having any chest pain or shortness of breath? or feeling dizzy, light headed? are you diabetic? please seek medical attention ASAP.
