I have already lost 2 and a half stone, throught healthy eating and exercise but still have high blood pressure. I am reluctant to take tablets for it as it means i will be on it for life. Any herbal remedies or advice would be appreciated

start by reducing your salt intake.

Have you tried meditation as well or something else calming? Gardening does it for me. You are making the right decision to use alternative treatments.
~Best of luck~
How high is your blood pressure? Most common cause of hypertension is essential hypertension, which is not correctable, but controllable. Other causes of hypertension are renal, tumors, etc.
Generally speaking, try to cut the salt i your diet. If you can, try to avoid salt totally. In the Philippines, garlic, in medical or raw forms, are effective in controlling hypertension. Am not sure of the exact dosage and preparation though.
If the cause of hypertension is correctable, then corrective appropriate measures had to be done to cure the hypertension
yes watch your salt and vegetable oil intake.baked or broiled
steamed foods. Use cooking spray instead.
no salt or caffeine… thats what my dr told me …. also dont be soooooooo stressed…. take a break
I don’t think that high blood pressure has anything to do with your weight. I have had it for apx. 7 years and I am not overweight. I was very active when I developed it and when the doctor first said your blood pressure is high she also said it is probably high because you are anxious today and guess what it was high the next time I visited her.
I have a friend who is stick thin who has had it since she was in her 20s. It probably has more to do with heredity.
I was taking a medication that lowered it sometimes but since I have changed my medication, it has been consistently normal. I get it checked every three months.
I think that the most important thing to do is to get it under control even if you have to take medication. By not doing anything about it, you are damaging your organs. That is why they call it the silent killer. Your doctor might tell you the same thing.
If you are still interested in going the natural route, you might want to get this guidebook that I have come across.
hey, read the free report at… which reveals some herbs to help lower high blood pressure.
hawthorn is one. it vasodilates the blood vessels which allows more blood to flow around the body
there are more in the free report
Reducing your salt intake can bring blood pressure down. However, frequently life style changes are not going to be enough. Go to your doctor and take your medicine. The longer this is left untreated while you search for a herbal cure the higher your risk of heart disease.
Why do so many people prefer herbal remedies over proven medication? As a pharmacist I always find this puzzling.
