A question asked by man_in_sane: Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor giving high diastolic reading?
I have a Citizen CH-606 wrist blood pressure monitor. Whenever I check my blood pressure, the systolic reading is below 140, but the diastolic pressure always show above 95. I got anxious and went up to a doctor. The readings were 150/90 there. Next reading was 120/85. Why is the wrist monitor giving high diastolic pressure reading?

Personal BP monitors aren’t perfect, they will give you a false reading. If you use it on someone else and it still says +95; it could be a malfunction. If you try it and it gives you a different reading it could just be the margin of error (+/- #).

Automatic home blood pressure monitor is required, if have known or suspected high blood pressure, it is important to keep track of the blood pressure levels at home in addition to regular measurements taken at the health care professionals office.
But it is suggested that upper arm blood pressure monitor is comparatively more accurate than wrist blood pressure. Because blood pressure measured at the level of heart is considered as accurate reading.
Upper arm blood pressure monitor measures blood pressure and pulse rate. It has 2 major parts; main unit with digital display and arm cuff with air tube & plug.
