Shall I buy a home blood pressure monitor?

blood pressure miracle

A question asked by Malek F: Shall I buy a home blood pressure monitor?
I have high blood pressure (last reading 140/94) and am considering buying a home blood pressure monitor. I am 30 years of age. However, I have heard that they can be inaccurate. Is that true?

Sure. Why not?

You are very young (in the eyes of medical). Hypt (hypertension) occuring at your age should be investigated. Then treatment can be initiated.

Invest in a good brand. Calibrate it before first use and after every 50 use. If you take all steps to ensure accuracy, then the false reading and inaccuracy won’t be too great.

Record all the readings. Show it to your doc. It’s valuble info!

Recently a lot of scammers, going around irresponsibly asking people to take certain med and point to a useless website. Please don’t take such ridiculous advice. I’m sure you are smart enough to tell.

Blessings.

  1. EA says:

If you decide to purchase a home blood pressure monitor, take the monitor to your Dr’s office to compare your monitor to theirs. I have an Omron digital BP monitor. I took my monitor into my Dr’s Office, is about 3 points lower. Those in-store blood pressure machines maybe inaccurate.
