blood pressure miracle

In love!!!!! asked:

Im a little over ten weeks. and have high blood pressure. There monitoring it and gave me a 24 hour urine tests to see if there was protein spilling in my urine, there wasnt. I got back to the doctors for my twelve week appt, I Kinda hope they put me on medicine now rather than it getting really bad and it potentially hurting me or the baby. Its hard to relax about this issue because I want to be excited but im still really scared at the same time ;(. Any one have high blood pressure and everything turned out ok?

I’m currently pregnant for the second time and having the same problem. However they did find protein in my urine. I’m on a high blood pressure pill, but the best thing to do is not stress. You will be watched a lot more closely, and they should do an ultra sound every month or two just to make sure the baby is growing at the right speed. I’m sure you’re doctor will do whats best for you and your baby. GOOD LUCK!!!

Well high blood pressure certainly has its risks but it doesn’t mean anything terrible will happen. They caught it early so you’ll have all the medical attention you need. Just stay positive darling, if its meant to be it will work out x

i had high blood pressure through out my pregnancy and the yput me on childrens asprin to controle it. it was no big deal. at about 30 weeks i was on bed rest though, but i and my son were fine. i was induced 3 weeks earlie though. your doc will let you know if there is anything to worrie about. so in the mean time, just relax! keep your feet up and drink lots and lots of water. that is what the doc will tell you. CONGRATS!!!!!!

they will most likely put you on meds if your blood pressure continues to be high at every visit.. they put me on methyldopa and assured me it was safe during pregnancy.. I take 250 mg twice a day which is the smallest dose, so they may increase it.. Dont worry, they’ll take good care of you, might even refer you to perinatal specialists.. They did for me.

Well first congrats on your baby!!

I had pre-eclampsia with my first son and the biggest problem with PreE is high blood pressure.

I also had to *** for 24 hours in that jug and take it to the lab. Basically it is to see how much protein (which is also part of PreE) is in your urine now. They will test it again later in your pregnancy and check it against your recent results.

You need to REALLY educate yourself on Pre-Eclampsia. Go to and read read read!!

There is no cure for Preeclampsia except for birth. So if you actually have this at 10 weeks – they will most likely put you on bed rest…..

They will tell you time and time again to relax but you won’t I know you won’t because I didn’t. BUT the doctors will monitor you closely and do everything to keep you and the baby safe. On the website I quoted you it will tell you personal stories, symptoms, what it is, etc…

Get educated on the matter because I didn’t know anything about it when I gave birth and had it. My friend had it to and she gave birth 12 weeks early But she was on bed rest in the hosp. and they gave her steriod shots later in the preg to develope the babies lungs.

    Good luck!

I’m 22 and had high blood pressure before I became pregnant. He put me on 1 baby asprin a day, 2 pregnancy safe blood pressure meds a day.

My BP measures about 140/90 most times.

I am more nervous about taking the drugs than I am about my blood pressure…I know they are baby safe but it sounds like alot to take! I just don’t want it to make me bleed! Maybe I’m scared about nothing~
EDIT- I too am on methyldopa…If the girl above me can take hers, then I’d better wise up and start taking mine too. I am supposed to take it 2 times a day and they are 500mg.
