If you have Hypertension will your blood pressure ever go down without medication?

jamie asked:

I am wondering because I have a lot of anxiety and when I take my blood pressure it jumps around depending on how nervous I get. Sometimes it can be 140/90 and sometimes 121/76. I was wondering if I had Hypertension would my blood pressure ever be able to go down to normal or is it just always high for people with Hypertension? So if mine is 121/76 just once I should be OK?

Thanks…

Can you tell acurately if a child has high blood pressure?

curious asked:

My sister checked my son with her at home cuff and it showed that his blood pressure was 142 over 92. Can this be right? Is this high? He is 11, 5ft. 3″ tall and 175 lbs and he carries all his weight in his belly and chest. I am extremely worried about his weight and I am very concerned about her thinking that his blood pressure is high. I will make an appointment with his physician in the morning but was curious if anyone else has delt with this?

Do I need to stay on medication if my blood pressure is normal?

Jojo asked:

I have had high blood pressure for years, even with medication it would not go down. Over a year ago I joined Curves for Woman and since my blood pressure has been going down. Two days ago I went to the doctor for the results on the cholesterol test. My blood pressure is now 120 over 68. My doctor tells me I have to stay on medication for the rest of my life. Some time ago I was told by other doctors I could get off meds when it goes down I lose more weight. Who is right. I don’t like being on prescriptions for life. I think prescription drugs are dangerous, and am afraid of what the end result will be.

Can Inderal (propanolol Hydrochloride) be used to treat both essential tremor and hypertension?

sarah asked:

The doctor has prescribed Inderal 40mg once a day as a medication both for essential tremor and hypertension (for which I was taking another medicine). Does this mean that i will have to take this medication forever or it can be withdrawn after some time. What can be the side effects.

What does mmHg mean in taking blood pressure and what type of measurement of speed do they use to find out BP.

Adam G asked:

I’m doing a science fair project and I don’t know what mmHg means on the blood pressure monitor. I also don’t know how they know how fast it’s going. Do they use some sort of measurement of speed or something? If someone can tell me the answers to those questions then I’ll be hoping for an A+
